Continuing legal education in Tennessee is governed by Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 21. Under the Rule, a Commission oversees administration of the Rule through a staff that provides day-to-day operational and administrative support.

On November 1, 2022, the Tennessee Supreme Court amended Rule 21 to eliminate all distance-learning requirements. Attorneys may earn all CLE hours online or via other distance learning methods.
